Security officials in Takhar reported that security forces launched air and ground operations in Khoja Bahawoden district of the province to crush armed anti-government oppositions. Brigadier General Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, chief of Takhar police, said that the operations have been launched to clear the areas of insurgents. He added that Taleban suffered heavy casualties. He further stated that three Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel, three policemen, and one commando were injured. Taleban militants have not commented on the incident yet.
