292 Acres Cleared of Poppy in Nangarhar

Security officials in Nangarhar reported that poppy crops on 292 acres of land were destroyed during military operation codenamed “Shaheen 2” in the province. Brigadier Sheren Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for Selab 201 Corps, told Killid they have launched the operation to crack down on armed anti-government groups and to eliminate poppy cultivation in the province. He asserted that there is no challenge ahead for them and they are successfully conducting the operation. Afghanistan still remains one of the top drug producing countries in the world.
