Hizb-e-Islami media officials denied Gulbuddin Hekmatyar was present in Nangarhar. Hashmatullah Arshad, a spokesman for Hizb-e-Islami, told Killid that while strict security measures for Hekmatyar’s protection have been rolled out in both Nangarhar and Laghman provinces, Hekmatyar has not yet checked into the government-owned building in the province.  Arshad added that Hekmatyar is currently in Afghanistan and asserted that he will appear within one or two days among the people. Meanwhile Qariburahman Sayed, another spokesman for Hizb-e-Islami, said that Hekmatyar will appear among people in Laghman province in the coming days and will stay there for a few days. Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, said that he was unaware of Hekmatyar’s arrival in Jalalabad, provincial capital of Nangarhar, but added that strict security measures have been taken for his arrival.
