Poppy crops on 122.5 acres of land were destroyed in Khogyani district in an Afghan security forces’ operation. Brigadier Sheren Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for Selab 201 Corps, said Afghan security forces have launched a clearance operation codenamed “Shahen 3” in parts of the province for elimination of poppy cultivation. He added that 122.5 acres of land were cleared of poppy in Hakimabad area of Khogyani yesterday. Moreover, the operation also suppressed Taleban fighters. Afghanistan still remains one of the top drug producing countries in the world.
