Man Decapitates His Wife in Helmand

Security officials in Helmand said that a man killed his wife in the provincial capital Lashkargah, today. Haji Geran, chief of PD 2th of Lashkargah, said that the man decapitated his wife. He said that the culprit has been arrested and an investigation is underway. The motive behind the incident is not known yet but most such incidents are the result of domestic violence. Meanwhile a number of women’s activists in the province said that lack of proper investigation into similar cases of violence against women in the province have caused more women to become victims of family violence. They urged legal and judicial institutions to strictly punish the perpetrators to bring down the levels of violence against women.
