Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal said that a number of Afghan Taleban have told him they are ready to end the conflict provided they are assured safety in Afghanistan. Zakhilwal spoke during a visit to Afghan refugees in Khaibar Pakhtunkhwa yesterday. According to Zakhilwal, Taleban have now realised that the fight they are engaged in with Afghan security forces is driven by outsiders and they are being used as a tool. Zakhilwal reiterated that the Taleban who had contacted him had told him that they are ready to leave the battlefield and return to their homeland. Zakhilwal further stated that President Ashraf Ghani has said he would ensure safety for Taleban and their family members who leave the battle.
