Hizb-e-Islami announced that the process of releasing prisoners of Hizb-e-Islami which was due yesterday was delayed due to technical problems. Qarib Rahman Sayed, a spokesman for Hizb-e-Islami, told Killid that the first group of Hizb-e-Islami prisoners was due to be released yesterday but due to some technical problems it was delayed for a few more days. Sayed asserted that the prisoners will likely to be released in the coming week. Earlier Afghan government had said that some 70 Hizb-e-Islami prisoners in government jails will be released in a week. In September-end last year, the national unity government signed a peace deal with Hizb-e-Islami and agreed to request the UN to remove his name from a UN blacklist.
