Foreign Tourists Visiting Badakhshan Increase

Badakhshan Tourism Department announced that the number of foreign tourists visiting the province has increased unprecedentedly. Sayed Akram Seddiq Lalzad, provincial tourism manager, told Killid that the number of foreign tourists visiting Badakhshan was 110 in 2015 but the figure jumped to 165 last year. He added that 42 of the tourists were women. Lalzad further state that more than 7,000 domestic tourists visited Cheshma Ashez of the province last year. Meanwhile a number of civil society activists praised tourism authority’s efforts to attract domestic and foreign tourists and asked the security organs to fully ensure the security of the touristic areas.
