Government to Probe Prison Conditions in Pul-i-Charkhai

Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) announced that a government delegation has been formed to review problems of Pul-e-Charkhai inmates. More than 100 prisoners of Pul-i-Charkhai jail have been on hunger strike in protest against denial of their rights for the past four days. Najibullah Danish, acting spokesman for MoI, said the Attorney General Office along with MoI will review the inmates’ problem. Danish asserted that the inmates’ problems will be addressed by the end of today. Yesterday members of Meshrano Jirga (senate) asked MoI to address the inmates’ problems.
