Security officials in Balkh province said that head of the provincial craftsmen union was gunned down by unknown armed men this morning in vicinity of his residence. Sher Jan Durrani, spokesman for Balkh police, said that Asadullah Nachar, head of Balkh craftsmen union, was killed in Kamar Band Baba Yadgari area by unknown gunmen this morning. Durrani added that the motive behind the incident is not known yet but an investigation is underway to identify and arrest the perpetrator.
