Officials in the Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) announced 70,000 saplings would be planted in different parts of Kabul this year. Mohamad Rafiq Qazi Zada, head of natural resources department at MAIL, told Killid that the planting was under the Green Belt Employment Project which aims to create a green and healthy environment in Kabul. Qazi Zada said the ministry will plant 20,000 saplings in spring and 50,000 saplings in autumn over 1,500 hectares of land. Last year, the ministry had planted 150,000 saplings in Kabul.
