Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left Kabul on a state visit to Australia, Indonesia and Singapore yesterday evening. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated the president will be holding discussions to strengthen relations with his counterparts in the three countries. The statement added that Abdul Satar Murad, minister of economy, Nargis Nehan, acting minister of mines and petroleum, Amanullah Ghalib, deputy minister of energy and water, and other high-level officials are accompanying the president. Earlier Afghanistan’s embassy in Australian in a statement had said that President Ghani has been invited by Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. According to the statement, the agenda of the visit is to expand bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, mines, agriculture, investment and higher education. Both sides will also sign an agreement on development cooperation.
