Ghani For Coordination of Islamic Countries to Eliminate Poverty

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that Islamic countries should coordinate efforts to eliminate poverty. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that President Ghani met with Alwaleed bin Talal, a Saudi businessman and member of Saudi royal family, in ARG yesterday evening. Both sides discussed Afghanistan’s capacity in the areas of investment, business, and infrastructure projects. The statement added that President Ghani said that the Islamic countries should not turn safe havens for terrorists. Appreciating efforts of Saudi royal family in strengthening business and trade between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, President Ghani conferred him with the high state medal of King Amanullah Khan. Meanwhile Alwaleed bin Talal said that he had held talks with reputable companies who called Afghanistan’s environment suitable for investment. He added that he will pursue his talks with Afghan Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi over Saudi investment in Afghanistan.
