National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced that a gang of six insurgents was arrested in Herat. A press release from NDS sent to Killid stated that the network affiliated to Taleban prominent commander identified as Safiullah was arrested by NDS operatives. The statement identified the network’s members as Mushfaqulah, Wahid, Ghulam Mohammad, Baharuddin, and Sayed Esa. The statement said the men had confessed to being involved in several terrorist incidents including the assassination of two police officers, and a policeman in the province.
