Security officials from the east of the country reported that 22 Daesh militants were killed in Nangarhar last night. Sheren Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for Selab 201 Corps, told Killid that the insurgents were killed in Afghan security forces’ air and ground operations in Nazian district. He added that two prominent Daesh commanders were also killed in the operation. Faqiri further stated that some weapons and ammunition of the insurgents were also destroyed during the operation. Meanwhile the spokesman said that a prominent Taleban commander identified as Ajmal was arrested in Ghani Khail district in a special operation conducted by the police. Nazian and Ghani Khail are disturbed districts of Nangarhar where armed anti-government groups including Taleban and Daesh are active.
