Moscow to Hold Conference on Afghanistan Next Month

Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar said that a peace conference on Afghanistan will take place on April 14 in Moscow. In an interview with Sputnik news agency Atmar said, “A peace conference on Afghanistan will take place on April 14 in Moscow and will bring together representatives of 12 countries.” Atmar said that Russia has invited the United States to participate in this conference. Atmar further stated that the United States is our important partner and its role is central in the organisation of efforts in peace process. That is why, we are grateful of Russia for the invitation. Atmar told Sputnik that the United States and Russia should join their efforts in facilitating the peace process in Afghanistan, turning this topic into an area of cooperation.
