A woman was shot dead by her neighbour in Baharak district of Badakhshan. Government officials in the district told Killid that the woman was killed because she refused his sexual advances. A press release from the district stated that the man was arrested by the police and has confessed to his crime in the preliminary investigations. Meanwhile Mohammad Azim Mosavi, district governor of Baharak, confirmed the incident and asserted that the woman was not sexually abused. The woman was married and a mother of four children.
