Security officials in Panjshir province reported that 25 people were arrested in charge of smuggling 700 kg of drugs. Brigadier Najmuddin, Panjshir police security head, said that four of them were arrested in Dalan Sang area of Shotol district with 500 kg of raw hashish. He added that they had placed the raw hashish secretly inside a car and wanted to transfer it to Kabul through Baghlan province. Najmuddin further stated that Panjshir police arrested 21 drug smugglers and confiscated 190 kg of raw hashish and 10 kg of opium last week. All of the smugglers were residents of Baghlan, Badakhshan, and Nuristan provinces.
