Local officials in Nangarhar reported that Pakistan opened Torkham border on 7th and 8th March 2017 for those Afghan nationals who had come to Pakistan on valid visa and wish to return to their country. Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for Nangarhar governor’s office, told Killid that the crossing was opened today around 7:00 am and groups of Afghans crossed Torkham border. Khogyani added that talks are underway for permanent reopening of the border. Khogyani further stated that the crossing point will also be opened for two days for those nationals of Pakistan who had gone to Afghanistan on valid visa and wish to return home. Pakistan foreign ministry announced yesterday that Torkham and Chaman borders crossings will be opened for two days tomorrow. Earlier Pakistan closed Torkham, Ghulam Khan, and Spinboldak border ports following a series of deadly attacks in Pakistan.
