Local officials in Faryab province reported that three Afghan police relinquished a strategic hill in Khoja Sabzposh district to armed anti-government forces last night. Abdullah Masoumi, district governor of Khoja Sabzposh, said that the hill was given up to Taleban insurgents in the wake of a deal made between three police officers last night. Meanwhile Mansour Ahmad, a police commander in the area, said that they had recently joined police ranks and have taken three weapons and a radio with them. Shahsawar Hill is located on the Maimana-Khojasabz highway.
