Interior ministers of Afghanistan and France stressed on mutual cooperation in the fight against drug and terrorism at a meeting in Paris yesterday. A press release from the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) stated that Afghan Interior Minister Taj Mohammad Jahid met his French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve. Jahid said that a common global fight against terrorism and extremism is in fact a fight for freedom and justice for humanity around the world and stressed that the fight needs regional and world cooperation. Cazeneuve said France is ready to fully cooperate with Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking. The two have decided to create a joint security commission composed of representatives of both countries to review bilateral security cooperation. It is reported that France had signed a security agreement with Afghanistan on joint fight against terrorism in 2012.
