MoD Summons Pakistan Ambassador in Kabul

Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) summoned Pakistan ambassador in Kabul today. A source from MoD speaking on the condition of anonymity told Killid that Pakistan Ambassador to Kabul Sayed Abrar Hussain was summoned by Afghan Army Chief of Staff Qadam Shah Shahim. The sources added that Gen. Murad Ali Murad, deputy army chief of staff, briefed the ambassador on continued rocket and mortar shells by Pakistani military in the border areas and called for the immediate cessation of the rocket attacks. Gen. Murad asked the ambassador to forward protests of Afghan authorities to Pakistani military and local authorities and prevent any further attacks on areas of Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. This comes as Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has summoned Pakistan ambassador in Kabul three times over artillery shelling in eastern provinces of Afghanistan.
