At least one policeman was killed and two others were injured today as an Afghan police convoy transferring prisoners struck a roadside bomb on the Helmand-Kandahar highway. Helmand security officials confirmed the incident. Guli Khan Sarhadi, Helmand police security head, said around 11:30 am a police vehicle carrying some prisoners struck a roadside bomb in Dorahi area of the highway. It is not clear yet whether the prisoners were Taleban insurgents. Guli Khan Sarhadi added that no injuries were suffered by the prisoners. No group has claimed responsibility.
