Operational commander of Shendand district of Herat was shot dead by unknown gunmen last night. Abdul Ahad Walizada, spokesman for Herat police, confirmed killing of the commander. Meanwhile Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor, said that one civilian was killed and son of the commander was injured in the gunshot. Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, spokesman for Herat Civil Hospital, told Killid that an injured aged 23 was transferred to the hospital. Sherzai added that the young man was injured in the gunshot. The police have started investigation. No group has claimed responsibility.
