Security officials in Ghazni reported that some 29 drug traffickers were arrested throughout the year across the province and hundreds of kilos of drugs were confiscated. Aminullah Amarkhail, chief of Ghazni police, said that 626 kg of drugs were confiscated from the arrested drug traffickers. He added that two drug traffickers were killed in Qara Bagh district of Ghani in an armed clash with security forces. He assured that Ghazni security forces are committed to fighting drug cultivation, production, and trafficking. Meanwhile some civil society activists in the province said that petty drug sellers pose much more danger than wholesale traffickers in the province.
