MoD to Investigate Killing of 17 Afghan National Army in Nangarhar

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced to investigate  killing of 17 Afghan National Army by Daesh in Nangarhar. Earlier Ahmad Ali Hazrat, head of provincial council of Nangarhar, had told media that Daesh militants launched a coordinated attack on police checkpoints in Dehbala district of the province, killing 17 Afghan National Army. Meanwhile Mohammad Radmanish, deputy MoD spokesman, said that a delegation from Selab 201 Corps has been sent to the district to further investigate the incident. He did not provide the exact number of Afghan security forces’ casualties in the incident but asserted to share the result of the investigation with media. At the same time a press release from MoD stated that 42 armed anti-government militants including four local Taleban commanders were killed in Afghan security forces’ offensive operations in the past 24 hours in 10 different provinces across the country.
