Taleban militants abducted some 52 farmers from Jowzjan province yesterday evening. Local officials said the farmers were kidnapped from their farms in Chel Tapa and Charband areas and taken to an unknown location. Mohammad Reza Ghafori, spokesman for the governor, said that the motive behind the abduction is ransom and asserted that Afghan security forces are trying to release the men. Taleban militants have not commented. Earlier Daesh militants shot dead six employees of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Qosh Tapa district of the province.
