President Ghani Condoles Lahore Suicide Attack

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani offered his condolences over the loss of lives in Monday’s deadly suicide attack in Lahore, Pakistan via telephone to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday. A press release from the Pakistani prime minister’s office sent to media stated that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani expressed his sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and hoped the wounded swift recovery. The statement added that Prime Minister Sharif said that terrorism is a common enemy of both the states and such cowardly acts cannot deter their common resolve to tackle it. Presidential Palace (ARG) has not commented regarding the phone call yet. In Monday’s attack in Lahore more than 13 people were killed when a suicide attacker rammed into a security picket at Charing Cross in Lahore during a protest by chemists.
