A heavy explosion rocked Lashkargah, provincial capital of Helmand, this afternoon. Security officials in Helmand said that the bomb planted in a vehicle went off, injuring at least 23 people. Meanwhile Omar Zowak, spokesman for Helmand governor, said that 15 people were injured in the blast. Initial reports suggest that the explosion happened in vicinity of a Kabul Bank branch where Afghan National Army (ANA) were queuing for their salaries. Eyewitnesses said that more than 10 Afghan national army were killed and injured in the blast. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.
