Abdul Khaliq Noorzai, district governor of Khak-e- Safed, Farah, was killed in a mine explosion last night. Amar Gul Bahar, Farah police security head, said that Noorzai was killed in parts of the district last night. He added that the initial reports suggest that the district governor was killed in a mine explosion but the type of mine is yet to be determined. He further stated that a delegation is sent to the district for further investigation of the incident and the result will be announced soon. Taleban have claimed responsibility for the incident. Khak-e- Safed is a restive district of Farah where Taleban and Daesh militants are actively operating.
