Afghan Attorney general ordered the arrest of 9 of Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum’s bodyguards allegedly on charges of sexual assault of Eshchi, political rival who accused Dostum of sodomizing him with rifle. Jamshid Rasouli, spokesman for attorney general office (AG), told killid that Mr. Eshchi, former governor of northern Jawzjan province, complained that Gen. Dostum had ordered his bodyguards to sodomize him with an AK-47. Gen. Dostum has denied the accusations and called them baseless. According to The Wall Street Journal, the arrest warrants of Dostum’s bodyguards were issued on Monday after they ignored three summonses to appear before Attorney General for questioning. The Attorney General Farid Hamidi said that According to the law, Dostum’s position could be suspended and he could be put under house arrest for his refusal to cooperate with the investigation. Hamidi further stated that Dostum has not been charged with any crime in the case.
