Afghanistan-Uzbekistan Emphasis Cooperation between the two Countries

Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salahuddin Rabbani, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, in Char China Hall of Presidential Palace (ARG) yesterday evening. A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stated that both sides reaffirmed the strong determination of the leadership of both countries and discussed views on the wide range of issues, including cooperation in political, security, economic, trade, and cultural spheres. The statement added that Rabbani called for providing more facilities in the transfer of commercial goods of Afghanistan through Uzbekistan and signing of a bilateral agreement on trade and transit. Meanwhile Mr. Kamilov reiterated the determination of his government to strengthen friendly relations and deepen cooperation with Afghanistan in the areas of mutual interest, including cooperation to consolidate peace and stability in the region, implementation of the economic infrastructure projects such as railways, power transmission, and expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties.
