President Ashraf Ghani stressed over implementation of peace accord with Hizb-e- Islami party today. Speaking on the funeral ceremony of Pir Sayed Ahmad Gilani, leader of Mahza-i- Melli party and chairman of High Peace Council (HPC), Ghani said that Gilani played a pivotal role in recently signed peace accord between the government and the Hizb-e- Islami party of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. He added that implementation of the agreement is one of the core responsibility of National Unity Government (NUG). It is reported that Hizb-e- Islami party is not satisfied over implementation of peace agreement between the party and Afghan government. Hashmatullah Arshad, a spokesman for Hizb-e- Islami party, said that the process of the peace accord is snail-paced and most of the important articles such as release of the party’s political prisoners and removal of Hekmatyar’s name from UN blacklist have not been implemented yet. This follow as Amin Karim, a prominent negotiator of Hizb-e- Islami party, had earlier told media that a group of 100 prisoners of Hizb-e- Islami party will soon be released from Afghanistan’s penitentiaries.
