Gen. Abdul Raziq, chief of Kandahar police, said that progress has been made in probe of the attack on governor’s guesthouse. He briefed reporters in a memorial service held for late Abdul Ali Shamsi, deputy governor of Kandahar. Gen. Raziq stated that 17 suspects have been arrested in connection with the blast. He further said that teams from Kabul, United Arab Emirate (UAE) and foreign forces are jointly investigating the attack and progress has been made. He added that the investigation has revealed that how the explosives were planted at the guesthouse but asserted that it would be premature to further elaborate as the investigation is still going on. The blast in governor’s guesthouse left dozens killed including five UAE diplomats and Abdul Ali Shamsi, deputy governor of Kandahar.
