A joint Afghanistan-Uzbekistan economic conference will be held in Tashkent today. Khan Jan Alokozay, deputy chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), said that Mohammad Homayon Qayomi, senior economic advisor to the president, along with a twenty member Afghan delegation will attend the conference. According to him, transit, trade, and electricity problems will be discussed in the meeting. Meanwhile National Unity Government’s (NUG) leaders in a meeting with Uzbek officials had earlier stressed on expansion of bilateral ties and economic cooperation between Kabul and Tashkent.
