Russian media quoting Defence Ministry reported that a plane belonging to the defence ministry has disappeared from radar just minutes after take-off from the Black Sea resort of Sochi on Sunday. According to the reports, the Tu-154 plane took off from Sochi Adler Airport on a planned flight and failed to check in with control tower at 5:40 am Moscow time. The plane was carrying Russian servicemen as well as members of the army’s officials musical groups, who were headed to Syria to participate in New Year celebrations at the base. Russian media reported that the plane went off radar when it was still maneuvering in Russian airspace over the Black Sea. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies that Vladimir Putin had been informed of the situation and was being kept abreast of the search operations.
