Kunduz: All Sides in Conflict Breach Human Rights

The regional office of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) said all parties in the conflict in Kunduz are guilty of war crimes. Hayatullah Amiri, head of AIHRC regional office in Kunduz told Killid that targeting, displacing, and using civilians as human shields are in itself gross violations of human rights. Amiri asked all the parties involved in the conflict to respect international humanitarian law. In Kunduz, some civil society activists have condemned Afghan security forces and Taleban for not caring for civilians’ safety. Habiba Gulistani, a civil society activist in Kunduz, urged the government to court marshal all war criminals so the rule of law can prevail.
