Afghan Saffron Rated Best in the World for Third Year in a Row

International taste and quality institute based in Brussel has rated Afghanistan saffron best for third year in a row. The rating came as the institute collected 300 different saffron samples worldwide. International Taste and Quality Institute was founded in 2003 for testing and recognizing different foods products worldwide. Per Kg of Afghan saffron cost almost $2,000 and is exported to United States, Europe, and Gulf countries. Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock said that there has been 17 percent increase in cultivation of saffron in the country this year.
