The Afghan poll for second parliamentary elections opened on 7:00 am local time. But some electoral site observers in Kabul complain about the quality of election ink used on voters.

Meanwhile, election observers have complained that government officials restricted their entry to the electoral sites and not more than two observers can go in at a time. Also, there are reports about distribution of fake voting cards in Khair Khana, a district in the capital, Kabul.

Reports from Qonduz suggest that the election ink is of poor quality and can be easily washed off.

It is the second parliamentary election after the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001 and more than 2500 candidates are competing for 249 parliament seats.
